To be continued

Ever since we got back from Ethiopia, I have been sick off and on.  It started with a high fever, terribly sore throat, and 10 days of antibiotics.  Just when I thought I was better, the sore throat came back.  Another call to the doctor's office and he gave me another round of antibiotics.  That time it was Zithromax.  The miracle five-day antibiotic.  By the third day of taking it, my throat hurt worse than it did when I started.  My energy was gone.  I couldn't hardly hold Noah or even take care of him because I was so wiped out.  So, this past Saturday I went to Prompt Care.  They did a chest x-ray, mono test, and a CBC.  All came back normal.  On Monday, I felt no better...I actually felt much worse.  So, I called the doctor's office again.  Really I was at the end of my rope.  Sick of being sick, but even worse was the extreme fatigue.  My mom ended up coming up to help me with Noah, and we headed to the doctor Monday afternoon.

The doctor said he thinks I just have a very "bad bug" that is resistant to the antibiotics that he has given me which normally work for most infections.  He said he was going to "break out the big guns" and give me something that they don't normally prescribe unless absolutely necessary.  So, I am now on day two of Levaquin.

I have had sinus pressure and pain before, but never like I had yesterday.  My face was sore even to the touch.  The roof of my mouth even hurt.  Most of the evening, I sat with a bag of ice on my head.  This morning I didn't feel much better, but tonight I am finally beginning to feel some relief.  I can handle the sinus junk at this point, but I just need to get some energy back.  It's better than yesterday and hopefully tomorrow will be much better now that I have two days' worth of the Levaquin.

When I am back up to par, I will try to finish up our trip postings.
