I just finished a quiz on Facebook concerning whether I was an 80's child based on my responses to 15 different images of cartoons from that era. Playing on that theme, and given that I am a 'food lover' I was hoping I could write a post that would elicit a response from you, the reader.

Yes, I am talking to you - family, friends, relatives, fellow adoptive families, coworkers, etc.

I am asking that this time around, you not only take a casual look at our most recent postings, but also add a reply in the comments section to a statement that will follow...

Please describe, in as vivid detail as possible, memories of your favorite school lunch or lunches.

By far, my most fond memory of school lunches involves pizza. Not the typical New York style pizza triangle. This pizza that we had was a rectangle of sausage and cheese pizza. And the grease...The grease created a thin layer on top of the pizza. Some students liked to place multiple napkins on top of the pizza to soak up the grease, and then count the number of napkins through which the grease penetrated. Other fond memories include the government surplus peanut butter sandwiches and cheese sticks. I suppose this was where I first developed my love of cheese.

oK I have not checked this webpage forever now that I see you everyday!!! I would have to say it was the pizza(the same rectangular pieces they serve now), corn, and the HOMEMADE peach crisp. I would kill for that peach crisp recipe. It was so good it was crunchy on the top with oatmeal and then oooey gooey warm and peachy on the inside. MMMMMMM my mouth is watering just thinking about it!!
