21 month anniversary

May 2nd marks our 21st month of the official wait for China and I don't really feel any closer to getting Sadie now than I did 21 months ago. Word in the adoption world is that the CCAA is saying the wait will continue to increase and they don't know just how long it will get.

In the meantime, we are very excited about Apple joining our family for the 2008-2009 school year. We have been talking to her a lot over e-mail and MSN Instant Messenger. I am working on getting her bedroom ready. Here is a picture of the comforter she will have on her bed:

In Thailand, the temperatures rarely get below 75 degrees, so she is really going to be in for a shock with the Illinois winters. She is excited to see snow, but she is worried that she'll freeze here. I picked up an Olympia hoodie for her to help keep her warm.

I have started the countdown for the last day of school. As of now, there are 19 days left!! I cannot believe it. I am ready though. We took the pool cover off last weekend and have started planting our garden.

Here are a few pictures I have taken so far this Spring. Click on each image to enlarge for a better view.

Have fun getting to know Apple. It will be such an adventure to have her in your family for a year.
