Ten months down

I FINALLY have the internet again!! Now for an update...

Garland and I are finally in our own house. We sold our house in Jacksonville in March, but didn't find another house to buy until April. We rented a little house temporarily until we found one to buy. We closed on this house in the middle of May but had to put quite a bit of work into it to make it livable. We have put in new vinyl/carpet, a new wall oven, bathroom vanity, mirror, light bar, toilet, and all new ceiling fans. My father-in-law is working on the outside now. It's a "lovely" shade of lime green and white. We are painting it all white and putting shutters on it.

This past Sunday was our first night here. All this week I have been working to get things put away. When we moved from Jacksonville into the rental, we only moved the essential items. The rest of our stuff was put into storage. Last week we got everything from the storage unit and the rental house. Our house in Jacksonville had three bedrooms, two and half bathrooms, 500 more square feet, and a two-car garage. The new house has three bedrooms, one bathroom, and a one-car garage. It's only 1300 square feet, but the bathroom is very big and there are eight closets throughout the house. We will be having a big garage sale in a few weeks to get rid of a lot of things that we don't have room for here.

The best part of the whole house process was it made the past few months fly past us. We are now 10 months down in the wait and still don't have an answer as to how much longer we have. The latest batch of referrals were for people with log-in dates in November 2005. It's safe to say that we have a long wait ahead of us still.
