Still waiting...

I e-mailed our social worker last week again and she said she hopes to have the homestudy finished this week. I am REALLY hoping that she does, too. I had not anticipated it taking this long. On our last appointment with her she said it would take a month and I thought that seemed like a long time, but it's getting closer to two months now.

In other adoption news...

The Illinois office for Immigration has ONE person that handles all the applications to adopt from Illinois. That person resigned a few weeks ago. When she resigned, we have been told that she was 8-9 weeks behind in her paperwork. They have replaced her now and we are hoping that things pick up because the waiting is so hard. This person will be the one to approve our Petition to Adopt an Orphan and to give us our fingerprint invitation. The quicker things are done on their end, the quicker we can get our paperwork to China.
